
To assist practitioners in selecting safer alternatives, new assessment approaches have been developed in the last decade. However, challenges remain on what constitutes “safer” when evaluating
alternatives from both a hazard and exposure perspective – especially in instances of incomplete, uncertain data on human health and environmental endpoints. OECD has now published a guidance identifying and outlining key considerations for the identification and selection of safer alternatives. See here.
