ICTA was pleased to participate in the OPCW Associate Programme 2026 in The Hague, where ICTA representatives Sem Teunis and Maarten van Arkel delivered a presentation on the role of chemical distribution in security, the importance of responsible supply chain management and emerging technologies.

The presentation also provided an update on ICTA’s Global Responsible Distribution (GRD) programme. Developed to promote consistent, high standards of safety, security, and sustainability worldwide, GRD extends responsible distribution principles to companies operating in countries where no national chemical distribution association programme is available.
The OPCW Associate Programme brings together professionals from around the world to strengthen international cooperation, build capacity, and exchange expertise related to the peaceful and responsible use of chemistry. During the programme, ICTA highlighted the vital position of chemical distributors within the global supply chain and the important role the sector plays in promoting safety, security, and regulatory compliance.

ICTA actively contributes to several OPCW-related initiatives, including participation in industry coordination groups, workshops, training programmes, and annual meetings involving both industry and national authorities. These activities allow ICTA to share industry expertise and practical experience from the chemical supply chain while supporting the broader goals of chemical safety and security worldwide.
