General Assembly

General Assembly
We kindly invite you to the ICTA General Assembly 2023 which will take place on Sunday November 5th from 2:30 to 5 pm. We will meet in the beautiful Omni Amelia Island Resort in Amelia Island, Florida.
The meeting is open to NACD members - so please be welcome!

During the General Assembly, David Jukes (CEO of Univar Solutions) will present his views on the chemical distribution industry. After David Juke's presentation we will discuss the recently agreed UN Global Famework for Chemicals followed by a presentation of ICTA's recent activities, including the status of the development of our new Global Responsible Distribution Program.
During the General Assembly, David Jukes will present his views on the chemical distribution industry. He became CEO of Univar Solutions in March 2019 following Univar’s acquisition of Nexeo Solutions. David Jukes is a 35-year veteran of the chemical distribution industry with a passion for growth and proven record of success. Prior to joining Univar in 2002, he was Senior Vice President of Global Sales, Marketing and Industry Relations, for Omnexus, a plastics industry consortium e-commerce platform. In 1991, he joined Ellis & Everard, a chemical distribution company in the UK, ultimately becoming vice president of corporate development for their polymers division. David Jukes currently serves on the board of DCC plc, a £12.3 billion international sales, marketing and support services group headquartered in Dublin. He is a graduate of the London School of Business.

After David Jukes’ presentation, we will discuss the recently agreed UN Global Framework for Chemicals. The framework outlines a roadmap for countries, UN bodies, industry, and civil society to collaboratively address risks of chemicals throughout their lifecycle. With the adoption of the framework, the issue of (chemical) pollution, is recognized at the same level as the crises of climate change and biodiversity loss, which already have frameworks in place. Relevant issues are the phasing out the most harmful chemicals, strengthening capacity building, particularly for countries with weak enforcement regimes, and creating better linkages across sectors, including health and occupational safety, trade, agriculture, energy, and transport.

Furthermore, the ICTA secretariat will present ICTA’s recent activities, including the status of the development of our new Global Responsible Distribution Program.

After the meeting, a cocktail reception will be organized from 5.30 to 7 pm. Your spouse is also invited to the reception.
