We have invited Mr. Raoul Meys Oliveira as our guest speaker, and we are pleased to introduce him to you:
Raoul is the co-founder and Managing Director of Carbon Minds, a company that develops high‑resolution life‑cycle assessment (LCA) data for the chemical and plastics industries. He is widely recognized for his scientific work on LCA, greenhouse‑gas emissions, circular economy, and decarbonization pathways.
Raoul will talk about the Scope 3.1 study and its implications for distributors. Scope 3.1 covers the emissions embedded in everything a company buys, and a study of it means mapping all purchased goods and services, gathering supplier emissions data, calculating the footprint using the GHG Protocol’s Category 1 method, and pinpointing which suppliers or materials drive the biggest impact. It’s essentially the process of uncovering where upstream emissions come from so companies can target the right hotspots and work with suppliers to reduce them.
We will conclude the session with an open Q&A and discussion.
