Climate action

Climate change causes hot regions to get hotter, sea levels to rise and extreme weather events to occur more frequently. Between 1880 and 2016 the average global temperature increased by 0.99 degrees Celsius . Without action, the world’s average surface temperature will keep on rising. To prevent further climate change, the Paris Agreement was adopted in December 2015 in which countries agreed to limit global temperature rise to below 2 degrees Celsius.

Chemical distributors take action limit the climate change impacts from their activities. Increasingly they turn to renewable energy and a range of other measures that will reduce emissions, such as optimizing their routing and transporting chemicals with more environmental friendly technologies.

ICTA promotes greater environmental awareness and motivates its partners and members to undertake green initiatives. Chemical distributors also reduce emissions by stimulating the circular economy.
